NEPAL TEACHER TRAINING PROJECT
The Rotary Club of Cooroy are now partners in a successful Internal grant. Our donation of $3000 over 3 years will help this project grow to over $74,000 as the Rotary Foundation has approved Global Grant 1525855, a 3 Year Teacher Training at the Tatopani Resource Centre, Myagdi District, Nepal, 300 Kms North East of Kathmandu.
The Rotary Club of Cooroy is now teamed with six Australian Rotary Clubs and six Nepalese Rotary Clubs to implement the teacher training programme in Nepal. The program has been developed by the Australian Himalayan Foundation and REED (Rural Education and Environment Development a Nepal Government endorsed NGO). Our aim is to help one of the poorest countries in the world to lift rural teacher training standards and enable the children of Nepal to advance from the basic primary level.
